A new milestone was reached as Hitachi Energy and Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) successfully completed the installation of a second control and protection system for the InterOPERA demonstrator in the Netherlands.
This new system integrates both hardware and software components for HVDC converter station and DC switching station, including control and protection for DC breakers.
The entire installation was up and running in under 2.5 days. Following this rapid deployment, the Hitachi team remained onsite to deliver hands-on training to the TU Delft laboratory staff, ensuring full readiness for upcoming development phases.
Remote updates to the system are planned as soon as the final specifications for Phase II of the InterOPERA demonstrator are released.
