InterOPERA welcomes TransnetBW as a new partner

As Germany’s transmission system operator in Baden-Württemberg and a key player in the European interconnected power system, TransnetBW is actively driving the integration of renewable energy sources and the development of future-proof grid infrastructure needed for the energy transition.

With HVDC technology becoming increasingly important in both European and German network development plans, interoperability between systems and vendors becomes increasingly relevant. Future multi-terminal HVDC networks will play a key role in connecting renewable generation, ensuring interoperability between systems and vendors is more critical than ever.

Through its involvement in InterOPERA, TransnetBW contributes practical expertise from planning and operating large-scale grid infrastructure projects while benefiting from cutting-edge research on multi-terminal, multi-vendor HVDC systems. We are pleased to welcome them to the consortium and to work together on developing open, interoperable solutions for Europe’s future electricity grid.
