InterOPERA celebrates its 6th General Assembly

From 16 to 20 March, the InterOPERA consortium met in Ludvika, Sweden, for its 6th General Assembly. Hosted by Hitachi Energy, the meeting brought together 21 partners to take stock of recent progress and align on the next steps of the project.

The week began with a workshop led by Equinor on technical and coordination on interoperability aspects. This was followed by the project’s second review meeting with the European Commission, including a keynote from DG ENER on the strategic importance of interoperable multi-terminal multi-vendor HVDC grids for the European Union. All Work Packages presented an overview of achievements and progress so far.

Over the next days, the General Assembly meetings focused on technical integration, demonstrator coordination, and project governance, as well as advancing the discussions on interoperability frameworks that enable multi-vendor, multi-terminal, and multi-purpose HVDC grids.

Participants also visited Hitachi Energi’s facilities in Ludvika, where they gained first-hand insights into HVDC Transformer technology and manufacturing.
