InterOPERA advances with the time-record hardware installation

The InterOPERA project has made a notable advance with Siemens Energy successfully installing the Control and Protection equipment at TU Delf. This new hardware, part of a bipolar AC/DC converter station, is set to improve the operability of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems.

The installation process was completed in 2.5 days. The rapid deployment also included the verification of bipolar STATCOM mode, demonstrating the system’s operational readiness.

Next, the project will integrate replicas from other HVDC vendors. Once these are in place, the official dry-run testing phase will begin, evaluating the system’s capabilities and compatibility.

Siemens Energy is now preparing for the second phase of InterOPERA, starting the engineering of project specific demonstrator models.
