InterOPERA took part in the 24th Wind & Solar Integration Workshop (WISO), held in Berlin, Germany. As part of the programme, the project organised a dedicated session focused on HVDC grid design for multi-terminal, multi-vendor systems.
The session held on 8 October opened with an overview of InterOPERA and its physical demonstrator activities by Siemens Energy, followed by technical presentations on HVDC grid design studies by Réseau de Transport d’Électricité (RTE). These presentations covered DC load flow and contingency analysis, dynamic studies, and transient studies, providing a structured view of the design process for complex HVDC grids.
The session concluded with an open discussion, allowing participants to exchange views, ask questions, and discuss challenges related to the planning and operation of multi-vendor HVDC systems.
