The InterOPERA project, has achieved a significant breakthrough with the successful installation and commissioning of a new hardware component aimed at advancing interoperability in HVDC grids.
In September, RTE representatives conducted hands-on verification of the first of two Hitachi Energy Converter Station and DC Switching Station Control and Protection (C&P) systems at the facilities in Ludvika, Sweden.
By October, the system was installed and commissioned in Lyon, France, running full operational on Monopole STATCOM mode within just three days.
Now, Hitachi Energy is preparing the second C&P hardware replica at DTU in the Netherlands to continue advancing the functionality and connectivity of HVDC grid systems.
