From 18 to 20 June InterOPERA partners meet in Oslo for their 3rd General Assembly. The Assembly is evaluating the past 18 months since the start of InterOPERA. During the works of the project the experts have defined the functional specifications for interoperable offshore wind grids. So, the main focus during the assembly was on the second stage of the project, which is the designing of a real-time physical demonstrator.
During a keynote speech Håkon Borgen Executive Vice President Offshore Development at Statnett SF stressed the importance of HVDC technology for the future expansion of offshore wind. The offshore grid needs to reach the next level: based on direct current, meshed, interconnected. Innovation is key to this. And InterOPERA is one of the biggest projects in this area. The meeting was sponsored by Statnett SF and Equinor.
